I have been translating since 1994, and I have been certified by the ATA for translation in the Japanese-to-English direction.

My many translations include topics in electronics, mechanics, computers, semiconductors, medical devices, and general business. My electronics background includes two years of translating and engineering at NEC, a major Japanese electronics company.

My BA is from the University of California-Davis (1985), with English Writing as the major. In addition, I took intensive Japanese at the University of Washington. I have 30 years of Japanese language experience, with five years residence in Japan.

I founded Blue Sea Press LLC, which provides online Japanese learning systems, and I developed the products on the site, located at blueseapress.com .

In addition to ATA membership since 2001, I have been a member of the Japan Association of Translators (JAT) since 1997 and was a board director in 2003.
